Yesterday the technician from Telekom checked our internet cable and apparently everything is OK. In the message he left on our telephone, he said that "the problem is that you have no access code."
Hunh?
He left behind another number to call (why WE should have to do the telephoning around is beyond me.) Thorsten called it last night and was given the runaround for awhile, but eventually spoke with a person who said that there is no data under his name, i.e., that we have no account there.
Hunh?
We did call a couple of days ago to let Telekom know about our upcoming move and to arrange for the transfer of services to Biberach, and the problems with intermittent internet access started after that (although how we could get through at all with no access code also makes no sense to me.) We are guessing that the person who put in the data about our move managed somehow to erase our account data . . . ?
And we don't even know if the problem is really fixed, because the person with whom Thorsten spoke yesterday promised to try to find someone to handle the issue, "which will take about five minutes," and then Thorsten was put on hold for half an hour, after which he was disconnected, and by then the service center was closed (all this at a rate of 12 cents/minute). Although if we have no account, I don't see how we can be charged.
Anyway, Telekom gets a grade of "F" for the time being. Boo.
