Outside, on the other hand, things are moving. The rock wall is done, the patio on the west entrance is finished, the main terrace is mostly laid, the ground has been profiled, and we had 24 tons of better humus trucked in on Wednesday for the flower and vegetable gardens and that has mostly already been spread where it's supposed to go. Left to do: sowing the grass seed, getting the rest of the humus where it's supposed to go, putting the carport on, finishing the terrace behind the carport, and running an outdoor electrical cable to the back of the property (in case we have a garden shed out there at some point, and in any case for our electric lawnmower).
The west entrance with stone wall and patio
View towards the house from the back of the property
View towards the back of the property from the house (the quarter-ellipse at the lower right hand side will be the kids' corner . . . that's where we're planning to put the swing set, slide, etc.)
The half-finished terrace (the head landscaper told us that it is a pain-in-the-you-know-where to lay down this paving, since there is basically no pattern to follow. Still, even he admitted that it looks nice).
The backhoe and the last pile of our "good dirt" for my vegetable-garden-to-be

I love how the patio looks as well as the rock wall. The wall will look great with shrubs or planters....so many possibilities. It all looks great!! xoxo Mom
