Date Night!

After a week of dinnertime struggles with Miss Lil we decided it was time to escape for an evening. Moritz, our trusted babysitter, came over to take care of Lilia and we left without so much as a glance from her . . . then off to Hugo, a French wine bar around the corner where I "enjoyed" an alcohol-free beer, Thorsten sipped a nice Merlot, and we shared an order of appetizers . . . then off to the Moghul, a very nice Indian restaurant sitting just over the river in Neuenheim. I had mango chicken, Thorsten tandoori chicken, and despite the drizzle we had a good view of the Neckar and the pedestrian traffic on the bridge. We lingered for half-an-hour over coffee . . . what a luxury . . .

I told Thorsten if he wanted to make it seem more like home, though, he could shout "Be 'scused!!" and run off halfway through dinner.

Sometimes you don't know how much you need to get out till you get out. Other times, like tonight, you know darn well it is time to get away for a few hours and be grownups.
